Merry Christmas!

Hello family!
First things first, yes I got both packages! They are under our tree right now:)  Ok well here is our week.

We went on exchanges Tuesday. Sister Stephens stayed in Corning and I went up to Ithaca with Sister Musser. Its really cool up there. Its very snowy and there are 2 colleges up there! Ithaca College and Cornell. Cornell was faaanncyy! It kind of remined me of Monsters University haha. I guess it is a smart people school and it shows! It looks like a castle and all the students walking around looked very intelligent. I think it would be great to serve in college land. Lots of young people who are open to stuff. So that was fun. It was fun to work with another sister. Also she looked just like Paige Kelly but shorter with shorter darker hair. Anyway, after we got back from exchanges we had plans to see our new investigator Tiffani but she said it wasn't a good day for some reason I forgot. So we were bummed about that but while we were texting her she told us she had been reading the Book of Mormon and couldn't wait to meet up again!! ahhhh!! She said she would be available after Christmas so we are definitely calling her December 26! We also saw our beloved Aumicks this week:) We taught the kids about baptism and McKenzie wants to be baptized so we told her to talk to her parents about it. Mind you her parents are the sweetest! Also their grandma is there right now cause her arm is injured and when we asked her name she told us "Grandma Carol. Well my name is Carol but you can call me Grandma!" So sweet! Also big Tim, the dad, told us he thought it was wonderful when we asked what he thought about us coming over to teach the kids! Love love love love them! So yes, pretty good week. We also met a lady last night who was on our potentials list. She had seen elders before and told us she has her own church but because we are so sweet and she admires the fact we are on missions she's be willing to visit with us anytime! Also we had a good snow storm this week! Its kind of really cold with that but its awesome! We shoveled one of our potential's driveways for service. Hahahah funny story. We are trying to think of creative ways to get people to like us/get potentials to become investigators so we decided we would write a Christmas poem and make a treat to deliver with it. We had planned to make fudge and carmel corn. Everything that could have went wrong, indeed went wrong. The fudge didn't ever set and when we took a test spoonful we are pretty sure what we made wasn't fudge and the carmel corn recipe was kind of weird because it wanted us to put the popcorn in a paper bag then drizzle the carmel on it then put it in the mircowave multiple times after shaking it. We didn't really want to put a paper bag in the microwave so we put the popcorn and the carmel in a tupperware (the carmel didn't turn out great either, it dried all crunchy and nasty) and then put it in the microwave and it melted the tupperware!! there was a big old hole in the bottom of it!  so those did not work out and we ended up melting chocolate chips and drizzling them oer the popcorn. I need that white chocolate popcorn recipie haha. So yes, I still definitely cannot cook.

Well I cannot wait for Christmas!!! We have a countdown:) Get all the skype stuff figured out! I hope you all have a good week and please keep praying for our investigators!! I love you all and miss you!

Season's Greetings!

season's greetings! :)

sounds like you guys had a great week! also, cute cute baby! tell des congratulations! anyway here's my week.
let see...oh! we picked up another investigator :D she is the coolest person ever. her name is tiffani and she just moved here from kentucky. yes, she has the coolest accent ever and i want it. anyway, she lives with her inlaws and i guess the first time when we were over just for a minute talking to her at her door she told them about us and they were like "don't let them in. they are jehova's witnesses" but we came back and she let us in anyway:) we also assured her that she is safe cause we're mormon. and then. she was like "oh i've never heard of mormons. what do you guys believe?" whaaaaaat!! best thing to ever hear on a mission. so as we were freaking out internally we taught her the restoration and gave her a book of mormon and i'm excited to see her again! also we taught tim's family again this weekend and it was amazing. i'm always kind of nervous to go over there cause the kids are super into but the parents dont really seem to be so we pulled up to their house behind their car and i see big tim (there is a dad and a son named tim so we call them big tim and little tim) come out and i'm like aw man, he's leaving. so we ask and he's like "nah, come on in!" so we go in and the whole family is there and they all get their chairs and clear off their little table so we can start our lesson. they have been praying and trying to read the book of mormon and they love the pamphlets! they have chosen their favorite pictures and when we were wrapping up they were like "do you have another pamphlet to give us?" so freaking cute. we asked melinda, the mom, and she said she would be open to taking them to church but they wrestle (ugh) so tournaments could get in they way but we will try to work with that. so excited about people here! also the branch did a cool live nativity thing at the corning christmas event called sparkle that we went to and it was way fun. it was very cold but there were so many people there and it was super christmasy. haha also as we were standing out on the street these teenage boys came up to us and were like "can we have a book of mormon?" and sister stephens was like "wait, seriously??" and then they're like looool no, we're members. rotten kids. ha jk they were funny, they got sister stephens really excited though.  speaking of christmas....16 DAYS TIL THE CHRISTMAS SKYPE. so so so excited. we will be going to the Brignone's for christmas eve to have a swedish smorgishbord or however you say it and then to the Beans for christmas day. what are you guys doing for christmas? hope its fun for ya! sister stephens and i are doing great. we have a lot of fun together! she says i remind her of her best friend so thats funny.
well, that about sums up my week. i'm loving it here. freezing cold but its all good. excited to talk to you guys. keep praying for our people. keep writing me!
i love you all and have a good week!

buenos dias!

this was an interesting week. we got invited into a house while tracting last tuesday so we picked them up as an investigator. we gave her the lds.org web address and told her to read or watch some of the general conference talks. they said we could come over this morning so we decided to sacrifice an hour of pday for a potential investigator but unfortunately, she attended her church yesterday so she wasn't too keen on giving that up. we left her with a book of mormon though and told her to read and pray about it so maybe something will come of her in a couple months. we did place another book of mormon this week though! we were walking to an apartment to tract and we started talking to a lady at the bus stop. she said she had met with elders years ago and she is very interested in religion so she was really excited when we offered her a book of mromon. idk if she is just interested in it for intellectual reasons but we told her to read and pray so hopefully we can contact her again.

ha funny story, we accidentally went to pennsylvania the other day. we were looking for a less-active on the branch directory and we got onto this highway and we passed the house but there wasn't an exit until after we crossed the border so woo hoo i can chalk that up to states i've been to! we were only in pennsylvania for like 3 minutes though so maybe it doesn't count.

besides that, not too much else has happened. we have met a lot of nice people while tracting. lots of people here are very set in their own beliefs so they are very nice and like to talk about the bible with us but thats about it. we try to pass out books of mormon when we can but sometimes that scares them away. its my favorite when people open the door and are about to open the glass or screen door when they see our badge and then they decide they would rather keep it closed. oh well. still trying to be optimistic! it's been 2 months, its got to be time for us to find investigators!

i hope you all have a good week. i know i said i couldn't wait to get out but i admit that i do find myself missing home. keep writing me letters and tell the lambs and my other family members hi for me! oh, and tell connely bye for me! good job on being dependable ward members and yw/ym. the leaders really do put so much time and love into the youth! yes ok i love you all and miss you!

dear family
haha they had a ceremony for the sidewalk?
this was a pretty good week! my companion got feeling better by wednesday so we got to leave the apartment. we didn't pick up any investigators this week but we met a couple former investigators who we are going to stop in on again so i'm hoping they will be interested. we went to addison last wednesday to help the sherrod's clean our their shed. brother sherrod shared some polish jokes he picked up in georgia. he also shared the "tankity tank tank" joke if you know what that is. if you don't, look it up cause its pretty funny. they also fed us hamburgers. i was so happy! lets see we also met a less active and her daughter. her name is tammy and she has had a crazy life and said one of her goals is to go to the temple so we will be bringing members with us when we visit her so she can get comfortable with them and then start coming to church! her daughter is really cute. she is 13 and she said something about wanting to be baptized so we will have to find out how committed she would be to coming to church and stuff if she was able to get baptized so exciting stuff! the former we met the other day was joe. he has had a crazy life. he used to be into drugs and drinking but he got himself out of that. and he was in a fire accident in the woods he burned 30% of his body! he has skin grafts on his legs and arms because he accidentally caught himself on fire when he was in the forest one day! he ran to his motorcycle to get to the hospital and the skin on his hand came off! so gross! but he was friendly and even gave us some otter pops. we left him with a plan of salvation pamphlet and our card and stuff. we're going back to see him but i really hope he has an interest. we also visit with these 2 older ladies. they are so cute and talk so much. we are there forever because they never stop talking! we have yet to get any gospel stuff in while we're there but we will keep visiting and then see if we can say something that will spark their interest.
i had kinwa (is that how you spell it?) for the first time the other night. yeah that's the weirdest food i have had so far so life is pretty good over here in that way. it was pretty good but i still don't care that much for the texture. feels like i am eating tiny bugs. we also got some amazing peanut butter chocolate pie though. heaven. oh and the branch is having a "fall festival" this month which is basically the chili cook off and trunk or treat combined and the missionaries are going to be the judges. oh man. i hope someone makes pumpkin pie. oh and yes i don't have my music cube thingy so please send that. and my gps. i hope everything you need for it is in the box...
what! lindsay is getting married?? i'm going to miss it! tell  her i'm angry she's doing it without me. whats his name again? and what what! connely is leaving so soon! this is too weird!! ha ya i emailed nick and he says he loooves it. wouldn't be surprised if he did move there.
well i'm gonna go now but have a good week! write lots of letters and send me food! please:)

Hello family!

Oh yeah we were at a place for dinner and the news was on and I saw in the corner of the screen a government shutdown countwon and I freaked out for a minute but then the member that took us to dinner told us about it so it wasn't as freaky but haha sucks you guys couldn't go to Lake Powell. Well dang I just told you guys off in my letters about ditching conference for Lake Powell so just ignore that part...yeah wasn't conference great?? I loved it!! Anyway, this week has been pretty good. Oh my goodness, Amber's family sent me a package!! It made me so happy! Also I got your guys' letters. Keep them coming!

So actually this past week I went on my first exchange! I went up to Horseheads to work with another sister, Sister Stapp for the day. It was so fun! It is very pretty up there as well and they have some amazing people they are working with. We both have light blonde hair so I'm sure people loved seeing two little blondes in dresses walking around. Besides that not much else happend this week...my companion was sick over the weekend so we hung out at the apartment a lot. Not very fun. But oh we did meet another potential investigator! We were tracting this one street and she was really nice and we asked if we could come by and talk some more and she said to call us next sunday and gave us her number! Her name is Jean and she is so cute so I'm really hoping that will work out. Oh my heck that is so awesome for Camden!! I also finally got some pictures from Matt in my email this week. Its weird seeing people I haven't seen in forever.

Ok I keep asking for these but also could you send me the cowboy cavier recipe? That sounds super good right now. I love the treats you send me by the way. Also hey could you guys give me Sam Harker's address? I wish to write her a letter. Sorry this letter wasn't very long but that's really all that happend this week. Hopefully this week will be full of stories! Miss you all and love you!
Love, Sister Quinn Nilsson

It's Officially Been a Month!

hello family!
so thanks for the email...not. i better have one next week. but ok here is my week. we went down market street at the beginning of the week oyming which stands for opening your mouth which is like tracting but no knocking on doors, just talking to people. we talk to them about family history so we don't scare them away too quickly. we met this one old man (who kind of looked like henry spencer) who made it a point not to give us his name. he is a writer and has studied every religion known to man basically. i figured it out, he talked like yoda and the catipillar from alice and wonderland. we'd talk to him and he'd ask us these questions that made no sense and that made him sound like some intelligent philosoph. he asked us what we believed then we'd answer and he'd be like "are you sure...?" yeah, he wasn't interested in the book of mormon we offered him. so that was that.

hey also thanks for the package!! i was super happy to get it. i dont get what those monsters university cards are but they're cute. also yay pumpkin spice m&m's! i look like a weirdo because apparently the first thing everyone knows about me is that i love pumpkin pie. i better be getting some this holiday season. also yes, those tights shauna told you about are super warm. and tell me what prices for a coat and boots aren't ridiculous! but anyway, yes thank you i like the package.

its officially been a month! well it was a month a couple days ago but still! crazy! its been so long but so short at the same time. how has it been for you guys? have the douglas's been helping you through it? yes ok i miss utah sometimes but its all good, the leaves are changing here so then i forget about ol' deserty utah. haha so the elder i was telling you about that reminds me of mecham has this theory that one year before the second coming there will be no rainbows. he asked us what we thought and we were like umm no i dont think so but he is very set on the idea. he got it from revelations 10:1 so read it and see what you think.

the cool person i met this week is dave. he is i think in his late 30s and he's a very country man from north carolina. he's got a nice beard and is missing his front tooth. he is super genuine and talks forever. we gave him a book of mormon and he said he'd read it! we're seeing him again i think this week so i'm excited for that! i'm getting used to the people here more i think. man, i thought we were poor (no offense) because we didn't all have iphones but i have it so much better than most people here! they seem perfectly happy with their trailer homes and flies all over the house but i can't believe how different the living conditions are! so yes, grateful for my home in utah.

ok here come my missionary commands. do some family history and invite the missionaries over for dinner! missionaries love meeting the ward members and like not having to cook! we're not starving so don't feel like you have to have a 5 course meal but its fun to get to know the members! also yes, family history. i think we have lots of ours done but look again and if someone's stuff isn't done, then do it! ok rant over.

i love being a missionary! keep writing me letters! its seriously the best to open the mailbox to letters! hope ya'll have a great week!
love, sister nilsson

Tracting, Kitties, and Zone Training

hello family!

sorry i didnt email you yesterday! hope you didn't cry too hard! i wasn't able to email because it was zone training meeting all morning. it was so great! i saw sister gochnour, elder neus, and elder buck there! they are in my zone! ah, i love my old mtc friends! but yeah, the meeting was great too! we learned a lot about how to teach people, not lessons. so much to learn here but i need to learn it all!

so, this was a good week! we had dinner with the Keunzli's (pronounced Cunzel. weird, i know) last monday or sunday and they are the coolest family! they also have the cutest dog! i forgot what its called but its a maltese and a pomeranian mix. so so cute. please get one. and oh my heck their house was great cause for dessert they had ice cream and they hade more peanut butter trails ice cream! you know the one i was telling you about that i had at the mtc? well they have it here too! go buy some! hmm and then the next day was district meeting so we drove up to Elmira with the elders. yes elder jones becomes more like mecham everyday and its the craziest thing. elders are cool though haha. they are missionaries but they are definitely still 20 year old boys. so that was fun being with them for part of the day. oh and they also have a cat! there is a cute little kitty that lives in the dumpster at their apartment and they always feed it so it loves them! so jealous.

i also had my first tracting experience this week. its scary! yes i realize the people behind the door are just people but i still get nervous. the people were all nice but the only one that showed some interest was an old lady who spoke half mexican and half english so we set up a return appointment with her but i dont know if she really knew what was going on so it should be interesting.

and some more facts about new york: the water is ok-ish....its not bad but its not great. i would definitely still have utah water. and, there are no mavericks here! i just noticed it the other day! also i haven't seen a target in forever or a costco. weirdly enough, i kind of miss my weekly trip to wandering around costco looking at the same magazines every time.

also i have become great at cooking! sort of! i made a nice big breakfast of cheese eggs and hashbrowns the other day. i was very proud of myself. and the other day i had about 6 pancakes for breakfast. its the weirdest thing, i am so hungry all the time. so send me snacks! and oh my gosh! we went to a baptism on sunday and they had some luncheon thing after and there was broccoli salad! just like the one at costco! lets just say i was way excited to get that on my plate. also someone made chicken in a crock pot with salsa on it just like we have at home.

some other people i've met are sister shipmen and the parkers. sister shipmen is just like kathy hawkins its crazy. oh and to make things weirder, he first name is kathy too. yes. mind blown. she's so nice too! then the other day we met the parker family. biggest red necks ever haha its awesome. we're talking to sister parker and then brother parker walks in with a big beard and 10 bags of cheetos and like those onion things. they have i think 5 kids and its just crazy in their house. they're less active so we're going to work on getting them to church. we also met this lady named christine. she seems interested!!! we just knocked on the door to meet her but she invited us in and took a book of mormon and we have an appointment this week! super excited/nervous. i hope she becomes my fist solid investigator!

hey new thing. i'm going to send you guys something i learned this week which is....get involved in member missionary work! please! i know its so easy just to take church and stuff for granted but it is so important that you come to church with a good attitude and remember how priviledged you are to go to church! i've just learned to appreciate that because there are so few members around here but they are all so strong in the gospel and are so good at being good examples! alwasy remember to live by your standards! and if our ward has a ward mission plan get involved! it is so helpful to the missionaries when ward members are willing to help! you might think the missionaries are capable of finding people but it really is tough and although we will do our part in trying to find people by knocking on doors, referrals are so nice to have! don't be afraid to invite people to church activities. even if they reject you, at least you planted a seed! so yes, get involved at church.

i hope that was a good email for you guys! remember to keep sending me letters!! its really fun to get them here because the week is long and i like to hear what is going on at home! love you and have a good week!

Safely in New York

Hello family!
Yeah yeah I'm in New York! Ugh so much to say. Good thing I'm a fast typer. So yeah, we left the MTC at 3:30 in the morning. Not cool. Then we got to Detroit, layover for an hour, got on some tiny airplane to go to New York which took an hour and right after we got off the plane our mission president and his wife met us and took us in the Lamb van for pizza! Then we did some training and stuff at the mission home until about 8ish...I was a zombie all night and was really struggling not to fall asleep during all of this. That morning we went over to the church to be welcomed and meet our trainers. My companion/trainer's name is Sister Whitworth. She's from Glendale CA and has been here a litte over a year I think...she's really cool. Oh and my first area is Corning! I think its next to Pennsylvania... We also have a car and have some sweet music. Its not Mo-tab but like country church music and acapella groups. I feel lame because I like it. Yes you guys were right, everyone here is a hillbilly and a hoarder. Some houses are nicer than others but most  of them are cute town houses but they are also pretty rundown. I went into one apartment complex and the entrance looked exactly like the Monster House. It was so cool. Also, everyone here has those giant circular pools you buy at costco. Oh and lets see, my first dinner appointment was a couple days ago. The Sherrod's invited us over. (No its not an Indian name. Idk if you even thought that but it sounded like an Indian name to me) They live in the countray countray in a trailer with a cute kitty named Smokey. They made us homemade pizza and then gave us ice cream. Yeah, its kind of hard to get used to being in houses that aren't super nice, or even decentely nice like ours but I'm getting used to it and the people that live in the trailer homes are so nice! And Ian, Brother Sherrod's voice sounded just like Merle's but a littler higher pitched. He's even from Atlanta! Oh! And the first thing they did when I walked in was give me some fresh milk. Yep, straight from the cow. It was good though, tasted just like normal milk...
So basically, we've done more service for the Catholic church and First Congregational Church of Christ since I've been here but its all good. You guys missed out, the First Congregational Church had a huge yard sale we helped at. The lady also gave us free hot dogs and lemonade. We also volunteer at a Catholic food pantry every week so yes, we are saints.

Oh I've also met the coolest people! After the Sherrods I think I met Sister Ambrozac. She is like in her 60's I think and she lives alone with her dog and has a motorcycle! She's the coolest most easy-going person too! I guess she went into the doctor's to have some operation or whatever and they accidentally nicked an artery (can't spell) and basically she could feel herself dying but after they fixed her she told them that she would come back! She's like the cool motorcycle grandma. Also, oh my gosh hahahahah her little doggy peed on my companions! Ah, so funny. She felt so bad! So yes, first missionary experience. After Sister Ambrozac we went to Sister Williams' house. She lives in a Monster House apartment with her husband. She is a spunky and not-all-the-way-there black lady and she is hilarious! I think she's probably in her 40's and she is just so funny! We have to draw out pictures of our lessons for her so she can understand them better. Oh and then yesterday we went to visit dear Sister Laura Burguess. Oh my heck. The cutest old lady I have met in my life (after grandma of course) she also lives alone with her kitties and has the cutest clutter-filled house and we actually caught her right in time because we pulled up to her house after she was getting dropped off after a one year old's birthday party. She is so cute and has a really strong testimony of faith so thats good and she is just the epitamy of grandmothers. We also went to the Brignone's house for dinner yesterday. Got some potatoes and I forgot what its called but its the meat dad likes to put ketchup on and carrots in butter and brown sugar which I usually don't eat cooked veggies but I decided to try them and they were good! Also everyone has given us cake for dessert so far...they made us ice cream cake! So good. Oh and they do pears wtih shredded cheddar cheese on top. They were really nice and super into the church.

We also have some cool elders that work within our boundaries. Elder King and Elder Jones. Me and Elder Jones were new for this transfer. Elder King is from Tennessee and Elder Jones is from Saratoga Springs. Elder Jones kind of reminds me of Mecham which is weird. Which reminds me, forward me the emails I get from him!

And oh! I think I know where dad's bad grammar comes from!! He got it off his mission! Everyone here says says instead of said too! I keep hearing people say "so I says to him" and its so annoying! Ugh, I will not pick up on that. Ha, also there is an amish town around here so we drove around and saw people in their suspenders and stuff and we went to an amish store. Although we think they are Mennenaites (still can't spell) because they have cars and use electricity. Yeah I bought some nuts from the amish store. Very tasty. Also, I'll have you know I have cooked more than my companion since I've been here! I made cheese eggs and muffins this morning! She made some barley something or other for breakfast but I made muffins. Yeah everyone I've met likes cracked wheat or cream of wheat and its weird.

Church here is so weird! They only have a branch and maybe 40 people come. The chapel is tiny and its so weird! The parking lot was empty after church because there wasn't another ward coming. But I liked it...at least everyone knows everyone. and this Sunday a nonmember came! Idk why she came but we met her and she's an old lady and her name is Beatrice and she was so nice! We asked her how she liked church and she said she loved it and everyone was so friendly! She's in the Elder's area so they got her info but they felt like she might be more comfortable around sisters (and they have like 6 investigators while we have none) so they gave her to us. I think we're going to visit her this Wednesday.

So yeah, thats all the stuff I wanted to write. I'll be sending some pictures. Send me some if ya'll want. Just some pictures you think I might like. Also, dad! Me and my companion like singing Joseph and the Techinicolor Dreamcoat so make a copy of your cd and send it to me! I don't have my address with me right now but find it and send it! Also mom, anytime you can would be nice to get  me some tights. Its getting cold. The warm ones, send the warm ones!

Ok so I'll email with more stories next week!
Love you,
Sister Nilsson

Letter number 2. August 23/24

                                                                                                                      August 23
Dear Family,
Ooh I got my travel itinerary today. Flying on Delta. THERE'S A CONNECTING FLIGHT IN DETROIT. ALL I WANTED WAS AN HOUR IN TEXAS THAT'S ALL I ASKED FOR. Hope is gone. No postcards for my friends unless I sent them one with a message of sorrow. So um the past 2 days have felt like 2 weeks. I met the people in my district 2 days ago and now we're tight. Oh my gosh this guy in my group from Idaho has the best country accent! He talked about the farm and his cows everyday without fail. And hahahah a sister and an elder were at Disneyland last week too! Also myy companion likes spongebob. oh and today the sisters were early to class so we decided to take some pictures, and my companion was like "ok guys, ugly faces, do the ugliest face you can." and with that being my strong suit, I was obviously the winner BUT THEM THE ELDERS GOT A HOLD OF THE CAMERA AND LAUGHED AT ME. the first thing I hear is an Elder saying "ew!" UGH UGH then they kept wanting me to do the face again! Never doing that again. Well at least now people know I'm a fun person and not some shy loser. ok bedtime. finish this later...
                                                                                                                                   August 24
hey ya'll. I got yer package today. Muddy Buddies! hahaha Madison got asked to homecoming? Don't lie to me. Still not great at teaching, but I'm hoping I'll get better. My companions way good at it so its hard not to compare myself to her. oh we went to the gym today. I ran around the track (ugh) but weirdly enough, enjoyed it. So all in all, I really like being here but it is so tough. Just gotta make it til Sunday and then I'll be good is what I hear. oh and when my district was just sitting in the classroom today, we were all just quoting Emperors New Groove and other disney movies! So great. They're awesome. Sometimes they can get on your nerves, but most of the time we're all buddies.
Peace out!
SEND ME MORE LETTERS AND PICTURES.

Sister Nilsson

August 21. First letter!

Dear family,
Well hoowday! I love it here already! So um lets see, my companion's name is sister Davis. She's from Sacramento and she's really pretty. She kind of reminds me of Sarah Nilsson. The other girls in my room are Sister Bochner (she asked me if I was related to Shanna) and she looks just like a blonde Elsie. The other girl is Sister Smith. She's from Salem Utah and tall with short brown hair but she's going to Maryland and is leaving next week. Ah! I saw Matt Easton today! It was so happy! I was walking to a class thing and I saw him and we both freaked out! He looked like he was gonna go in for a hug but only handshakes haha. Ah. It was great. Ugh i can hear the girls singing in the shower from my room. Also the people from my district are cool. Ooh, one guy is from Idaho and on a farm and has a country accent. Sweeet. Um its going to be crazy busy days but hopefully i'll make it. Ooh they had icecream in the cafeteria today. Also we can only write letters on P-day. They just gave us special permission to write today. My companion brought a Luke Bryan t-shirt, and its sitting on display right now. I should have snuck in some pictures of my boys. I hope ya'll aren't missing me too much cause I'm seriously having a great time. It's only been a day but i'm stoked. Kind of scared that I have to teach people but mostly excited. Ughughugh they're still singing. Well I don't really have much else to say about today, but I'll keep writing. Yeah don't be sad that I'm gone cause you can still email me and write me and stuff. Sorry I'm not going to write any mushy gushy stuff yet, haven't been in missionary mode long enough. Umm ya I don't even know when P-day is but oh oh I'm supposed to go to New York September 3rd. When the Lambs ask about me over Labor Day, tell them I'm doing super and that i love it and it's great and that I miss Garrett the most. And Tessa. Oh! Got my badge. It's cool. have to email a picture of me with it. Still wondering/ waiting to see Katy! I think she's here but I don't know. Everyone's way nice to you here. It's cool. Ugh but I'm probably going to get a bloody nose here. Don't think I need anything mailed, maybe jus that paper from my setting apart. So far wearing a skirt everyday doesn't suck too bad, but we'll see how it goes. It's pretty hard to navigate my way around here. Luckily my companions help. Oh and I spilled my icecream on the floor today. Oh my zone leader guy is from New Zealand and has the sweetest accent. He and his companion are going to Anaheim, AKA the happiest place on earth. Yeah, that's all i got for today. So have fun at school and say hi to Cuggie (our cat) for me and wuv you. Like I said, don't worry cause I'm doin' good. Oh, say hi to Gaylen for me too when you see him tonight.
                 Love,
                   Sister Quinn Nilsson

So there you have it! She's doing great and loving every minute, just like we knew she would.
